Privacy policy

KeepUp helps you stick to goals by checking in with proof and sharing progress with friends. This policy explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address and profile photo from Google Sign-In, and the username you choose.
• What you create: goals and their settings, check-ins (photos, numbers, notes), comments, group messages and reactions.
• Social: your friends, friend requests, goal memberships, invites, nudges, blocks and reports.
• Progress: streaks, points and badges, calculated from your check-ins.
• Device: a push notification token and your time zone, used to send reminders at the right time.

Photos are taken inside the app when you check in. We don't access your photo library.

Who can see it

• Your name, username, photo and badges are visible to other KeepUp users, so friends can find you.
• Check-ins are visible to the people in that goal (teammates and partners). If you set a goal to “All friends,” its check-ins are also visible to your friends.
• Your email address is never shown to other users. Someone who already knows it can use it to find your profile.
• We don't sell your data or show ads.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, notifications and server functions, hosted in the United States) and Cloudflare (photo storage and these web pages). They process data only to provide those services to us.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account (Profile → Account → Delete account), we delete your profile, check-ins, photos, comments, messages, friendships, streaks, badges and push tokens. Goals you share with others are handed to another member so their history isn't lost. Reports you made may be kept for moderation.

Your choices

• Edit your name in the app, and control notifications in Profile → Notifications.
• Choose who sees each goal's check-ins, and block anyone.
• Delete your account and data at any time from the app.

Children

KeepUp isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access is controlled by server-side rules so only the right people can read your check-ins and photos.
